How to store Portable Air Conditioning

An obvious but often ignored tip is storing your unit properly during the winter or whenever it is not used for a prolonged period. Leaving the unit in situ after use for long periods can cause excessive dust and moisture to be collected, causing problems.

To properly store the unit away, firstly drain the unit by removing the bottom drain plug.  Then remove all moisture inside the unit by running it on the fan mode only at maximum level for several hours. Then unplug the air conditioner and wait for it to cool down.

If possible, repack in its original packaging or at least cover the air conditioner with a covering to protect it from dust, it must always stand on an upright position. Store it in a place without direct sunlight and with minimal fluctuations in the ambient temperature. A dry and cool place such as a storage room is perfect.

Very important to always remember that the portable air conditioner must always be kept upright, never place it on its sides or upside down as this will damage the air conditioner and sadly if left in these positions for prolonged period of time it will most likely be beyond repair.
