Recycling and Environmental Sustainability
You can recycle your electrical and electronic appliances for free at your local recycling centres. EcoAir have paid towards the recycling of electrical and electronic appliances for all our customers. To recycle your old appliance, simply visit recycle-more.co.uk and select the type of appliance in the drop down menu and enter your postcode.
Importance of recycling electrical appliances
Electrical waste is currently the fastest growing waste in the UK and the rate of increase is growing year on year. All EcoAir's electrical appliances can be recycled. Recycling your appliances means they do not end up in landfill. This helps to reduce environmental and health risks such as water and soil contamination that can be harmful to both humans and wildlife.
How does EcoAir help in recycling
EcoAir is proud to support your local authorities in providing local recycling facilities for electrical appliances.
We are a member of the UK's WEEE Distributor Take-Back Scheme (DTS) that is approved by the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
But what is WEEE?
WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment recyling) are items that have a plug or need a battery. You will normally find a WEEE bin symbol on your appliance.

Ecoair Sustainability and Environmental Policy
At Ecoair, sustainability is not just a responsibility—it’s a core part of how we think, operate, and grow. We understand that the choices we make today will shape the world we live in tomorrow. That’s why we are committed to minimising our environmental footprint across every part of our business, from product design to packaging, logistics to end-of-life care.
Energy-Efficient Product Design
We design our products with environmental impact in mind, focusing on energy efficiency, durability, and low emissions. A key part of our approach is prioritising technologies that reduce energy consumption without compromising performance. For example, we use desiccant dehumidifiers that operate without refrigerant gases. These units not only perform better in low temperatures but also reduce energy consumption by up to 40% compared to traditional compressor models.
In our portable air conditioning range, we’ve adopted low Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerants like R32. This allows us to deliver powerful cooling with significantly lower environmental impact, supporting the move toward more sustainable climate control solutions. Additionally, our DC fan technology delivers high airflow performance while using up to 70% less energy than conventional AC fans—demonstrating that energy savings and comfort can go hand in hand.
Materials, Manufacturing & Packaging
Beyond the technology itself, we’re committed to using materials and components that are safer, longer-lasting, and more environmentally responsible. We are actively reducing the use of single-use plastics in our packaging and replacing them with recyclable or biodegradable alternatives. Our product designs prioritise ease of maintenance and repairability, helping reduce waste and extend the life of each unit.
Carbon & Resource Management
Sustainability also guides the way we manage our operations and partnerships. We work closely with suppliers who meet strict environmental and ethical standards, and we continuously review our supply chain to ensure best practices are maintained. From product manufacturing to last-mile delivery, we seek partners who align with our values—especially those using low-emission logistics and greener energy sources.
Education & Customer Engagement
We also recognise our role in helping customers make more informed and sustainable choices. We offer clear product information, energy usage tips, and smart usage features designed to help users reduce unnecessary energy consumption. Whether it’s selecting the right mode, setting timers, or improving indoor air quality, we aim to make energy-saving easy and intuitive.
End-of-Life Responsibility
Our commitment doesn’t stop at the point of sale. We support product longevity through our in-house service team, offering repair and refurbishment options wherever possible. We also participate in responsible recycling and take-back schemes to keep products and components out of landfill.
Environmental responsibility is a continuous journey. That’s why we regularly review our goals, track our progress, and look for new ways to improve. We’re proud to be recognised by independent review bodies and consumer awards, but we know there’s always more to do. Every step forward—however small—brings us closer to a more sustainable future.
At Ecoair, we believe sustainability and innovation should go hand in hand. By combining smart design, efficient technology, and ethical practices, we aim to build a better future—one product, one customer, and one responsible choice at a time.
