How Does Cold Plasma Works

London - April 18, 2011 --Cold Plasma - plasma is formed when a modulated electric field is applied to a pair of electrodes. Oxygen molecules in the air that come into contact with the plasma break down into reactive oxygen species (ROS). Organic substrates such as bacteria, viruses and mould spores that are exposed to these broken down oxygen molecules are destroyed or rendered harmless on contact. Therefore the air becomes free of bacteria and viruses. Plasma is able to dramatically reduce the population of E-Coli, Salmonella Choleraesuis, Staphylococcus Aureua and Candida Albicans in the air. Cold plasma kills bacteria by damaging their DNA and surface structures without being harmful to human tissues.
